Often just using the udm14.com wrapper around Google =( but experimenting with https://marginalia-search.com https://stract.com https://www.mojeek.com https://openwebengine.com https://searxng.site https://curlie.org https://yacy.net and https://www.qwant.com . Most of those most of the time can't find anything a bit obscure. curlie is great for things in its curated collection. I'd like to see more of that. Crawling might be dead unless you're Google/Microsoft and have a backdoor to sites past Cloudflare etc. Often trying one then another. In the past, I've had my default search engine set to Wikipedia's search too but with the corporate takeover of Wikipedia we may lose even that.
