@tvaziri Slow transitioning from "NO CGI" to "NO AI ( made by humans )" and I like it.

First Christopher Miller clarifies, now Phil Lord. I am extremely grateful for them putting out this information.

The discourse is still so bad. It's one thing when internet bozo film bros spread misinformation, but when the trades just say stupid stuff like this it's just so overwhelming and depressing.

Fun fact: even those movies that you think "rely on 'CGI'" have gigantic practical effects work!

@tvaziri wait did they not send Ryan Gosling multiple light years away from earth? Hollywood is doomed. I bet they didn't use a real alien either.

the piece is worse than the headline and deeply misleads

                        TO BE CLEAR:
                        - in half the shots in which he appears, Rocky is computer graphics animation
                        - Project Hail Mary used LED screens
                        - Top Gun Maverick had all-CG jet sequences, the Dune films had all-CG sequences, Alien Romulus had all-CG aliens

@tvaziri Boiling in me is that idea writ large—too much emotional investment in specific tools and approaches, too little consideration for which tool is appropriate under what circumstances.

@tvaziri I think the web has just ruined company’s idea of how to write about stuff.

It was fun watching and not thinking about it was made. I’m definitely better off reading less about films and just going off the vibe of the trailer or comments from friends.

@tvaziri I'm currently pitching something on the premise that we will proudly announce that it is CGI to say it is not AI.
