@magezwitscher @remaster Can I please get a full #Euro notes set with GDPR, AI-Act, Right to Repair, Investigation into right-wing partys and ... what should be the others? Maybe #Schrems2, #Schrems3inthemaking

@bill88t @Elektrotier @remaster The total amount of plastic caps found has gone down in Sweden though (62% fewer per square meter in 2025 compared to 2023).
The reason the west beaches of Sweden (Skagerrak, Kattegat and the Sound) are so littered with plastic caps is not fully known according to the report by "Håll Sverige Rent" (Keep Sweden Clean). They know that some people are very bothered with the caps, and that this might mean that they tear the caps off and throw them away.
@ahltorp @bill88t @Elektrotier @remaster
so the answer is assholes? I can't believe it -
The new #euro notes should feature peak european innovation.
-
@titia But what happened in 2024?
-
@remaster
The 500€ should feature "Roam like at home".@magezwitscher @remaster 4G *and* 5G? Amazing!
-
@ahltorp @bill88t @Elektrotier @remaster
so the answer is assholes? I can't believe it@kolya @bill88t @Elektrotier @remaster The answer was always assholes. Who else disposes of their bottle caps in nature in the first place, with or without attachment?

@remaster
The 500€ should feature "Roam like at home".@magezwitscher @remaster The 500 € notes have been discontinued.
-
@titia But what happened in 2024?
@ahltorp the attached caps came into use in the spring and summer, and that has to be taken into account, of course. Were the bottle caps found on these beaches the attached sort, i.e. was it obvious that they had been torn off?
-
But plastic pollution is a problem. It is no fun.
@Elektrotier @remaster
It did shape bottle design even outside the EU and reduces plastic pollution and the swallowing of bottle caps by animals. So it kind of is peak European invention by regulating the industry.

-
@remaster nice for lefties, but a lot of Europeans hate this kind of caps.
-
@remaster
Yes, great! Here's my proposal for the 200€ bill.@magezwitscher @Stinkstiefel @remaster
now that's more like it!
-
@remaster This is probably meant as a joke, but honestly what isn’t there to like?
It’s simple and effective and the burden of implementation was put on the drink manufacturers.
That doesn’t negate the success in European collaboration at the other end of the spectrum. Airbus outsells Boeing almost 2:1, Ariane launches the JWSS at such precision it *doubles* the telescope’s life span. Galileo is a top-notch (if not the best) GNSS.
So I’ll take your bottle caps
@photovince I would say it’s both a joke and serious, because it’s a good innovation for the environment, but at the same time it has a reputation of being annoying, literally in your eye, and that’s perhaps not something you brag about in this manner. 🤭

@remaster fuck no
-
@remaster What’s the problem with plastic bottle caps? Reasonable improvement. I don’t really get the logic behind alm the jokes. I mean, it’s understandable when some MAGA idiots do it, but this is the first time I saw it on Mastodon feed.
@oleksify From what I’ve heard, the regulation actually is working and helping the environment.
But it has a reputation of being annoying, literally ”in your eye”, although that depends on the manufacturers design.
Not perhaps the thing you brag with, so that’s a little funny. -

@remaster where is the USB-C on iPhones one
