Was at the beach to see the near-eclipse of the sun (around these parts the moon left a slice of the sun) and it was magnificent to see those two huge bodies influence each other and change the evening light. What amazed me was to see all those other people on the beach. More than 30.000 people gathered (I know because one organization had come and handed out that many glasses and they were all gone when we came). The #eclipse of the sun is more popular than many pop stars. Good to know!

@malte I made an unexpected party-pooper, as I showed up with eclipse glasses and a pair of binoculars on a tripod with real and proper mylar filters... stuff that I got back in 1999.
Turns out people are really into cardboard boxes and pinholes
