@HennaVirkkunen WTF Infinte scrolling is now demonized? WTF is your problem? Where do you even live? The moon? Get your head out your ass.
People like you are the issue in our societies.
Too rich and pampered searching for validation for their existence by doing meaningless, destructive policing no one asked for.
You are the problem.
You want censorship and to spy on everyone, except yourself and your class.
Disgusting.
The level of self-righteous pseudoactivism is unbelievable.
Get your fucking head straight.@admin @HennaVirkkunen i feel it is a political move, a soft retaliation to the usa threatening greenland

@Tuuktuuk @HennaVirkkunen Social media existed before Facebook debuted the algorithm-driven timeline (think MySpace/Friendster). It wouldn't be bad to see a return to social media platforms that feel less like high-fructose corn syrup.
Ab-so-lute-ly!

@HennaVirkkunen why has this never applied to facebook or twitter?
@nf3xn @HennaVirkkunen Are you sure? About a month ago. https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_25_2934

Today, the Commission has preliminarily found TikTok in breach of the DSA, for its addictive design.
This includes features such as infinite scroll, autoplay, push notifications, and its highly personalised recommender system.
TikTok seems to fail to implement reasonable, proportionate and effective measures to mitigate risks stemming from its addictive design.
At this stage, the Commission considers that TikTok needs to change the basic design of its service.
: https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_26_312@HennaVirkkunen I believe your time would be better spent on more productive endeavours. This is not the kind of regulation we should be fighting over and is a massive can of worms.

@HennaVirkkunen
#Mastodon has the same design features!@sloanlance @HennaVirkkunen we don't have personalized stream with an algorithm pushing for stuff that we viewed more than a second.
Instagram is pretty close though.
-
@HennaVirkkunen or ec.social-network.europa.eu even?
@nf3xn @HennaVirkkunen it's about per user optimized algorithmic timeline. Mastodon doesn't push you anything from anyone you don't follow.

@nemeciii @HennaVirkkunen You used to be able to have an infinite scrolling firehose from local (your instance) and federated (all) timelines. This has been removed in the latest version of Mastodon. In Mastodon creating your algorithm is manual, in Tiktok it is automated but both still have infinite scroll and push notifications. Mastodon aside, my concern is that there is a massive double standard here singling Tiktok out for it. What about twitter??

@Setok @HennaVirkkunen In my humble opinion, fighting psychological manipulation of large parts of society by intransparent platforms with highly questionable incentives is exactly what should be done.

: https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_26_312@HennaVirkkunen Lulz, that applies top all the US corposhit, not just the "evil chinese tiktok"… Even Mastodon has that stupid infinite scroll because devs somehow believe that "infinite scroll is good UX as opposed to changing pages"…
