Honestly... I might need to find/start a support group for people with anti-AI sentiments.

Honestly... I might need to find/start a support group for people with anti-AI sentiments. Is there anyone else here who needs that, and would want to join, or help build it, or knows something that already exists?

I spent like two hours today racking my brain for a decent way to build a simple frontend/backend website that would inspire some joy rather than just be digging through slop, and... I just couldn't. Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, Elixir, even .NET, it's all just infested with slop. I looked at Rust and the predominant web thing is Actix which is... mostly written by Claude, now. Linux is slop and Linus espouses the now-default view among leaders in FOSS and tech, which is ethics are not up for discussion, so fall in line and keep up with the changing world. The major BSDs are slop. It's all fucking slop, everywhere, too much to fork, software no one can live without.
I went to the zoo the other day and walked out of a David Attenborough documentary because the whole fucking thing was AI-generated. -

I have to be somewhat pragmatic but I don’t like muddling through that alone.
Sometimes I think I‘m the last person with ethics in IT (exaggerated for dramatic effect, but it sure seems lonely a lot of the time).

@drew@social.freebitcoin.gay I'd join. Been agitating against AI continuously, here and in computer science circles, since early 2023. It's tiring.
