@FediTips what's the current consensus on #hashtag overuse / misuse? A year or so back I was seeing recommendation of maximum of 10. I thought your page https://fedi.tips/what-are-hashtags-how-do-i-use-them-on-mastodon-and-the-fediverse/ used to have a recommendation, but no longer find it.
So now seeing what seems to be a post with like "AI-generated", largely irrelevant, or too-broad list of tags, about which the account says "I used a standard set of climate-related hashtags I've got in my text expander." [as if this std list were authoritative]

I wouldn't want to put a specific number on it as it can depend so much on context. For example if someone is posting about watercolour paintings there may be many different versions of one tag they need to add to account for plurals and spelling differences (watercolour, watercolor, watercolours, watercolors etc).
One thing to say though, if a hashtag is irrelevant to the post then that post is spam. You can report posts using irrelevant hashtags as spam posts.
