Filters might help in that situation? There's a guide to using them at https://fedi.tips/filtering-your-timeline-to-hide-posts-on-mastodon
You can also mute a person's boosts (reposts) if they are sharing stuff you don't want to see, more info at https://fedi.tips/blocking-and-muting-on-the-fediverse/#JustBoosts
