That sounds like a good idea, but I'm not a dev so I don't know how feasible it is technically. Sorry I can't help on this front
Maybe @pfefferle (author of WordPress Fediverse plugin) might be better person to ask?(Vaguely recall there might have been someone else's plugin long time ago that linked a Mastodon account? Not sure though.)
By the way, had a go on Ghost federation and it's pretty nice. There's a dedicated section for Fediverse timelines, replies, notifications etc.
