They could've also written: "Europe harvests the consequences of consumer societies' denial on climate"Just a reminder: greenhouse gas emissions make extreme periods (much) longer, stronger, and more frequent.

@W_Lucht encore une contribution de l'UE technocratique et ultra capitaliste aux misères des populations, de la faune et des éco systèmes. Fuck VanderLeyen fuck la commission européennes et tous les européophiles.

@W_Lucht my my my, if it isn't the consequences of our own actions, shocking.

@pelle this seems a bit reductionist, don't you think? Like, all this carbon from fuel is from plant-based sources buried underground millions of years ago...

@RevRhizicNatterjacks
1/4 of our greenhouse gas emissions are from food production, and a #vegan diet cuts that with 3/4. it's the easiest and most impactful action you can take.

@W_Lucht How about we don't frame this as *Europe* and *consumerism* issue? Looking at data it is neither. https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/annual-co-emissions-by-region

@bmgnrs
I screenshotted it from the "meteoblue" weather app.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/jul/20/vegan-diet-cuts-environmental-damage-climate-heating-emissions-study@pelle idk, I think taking the bus or riding a bike instead of driving a car is also nice.... Why provide cover for Oil Barons?

@RevRhizicNatterjacks
i agree: ban cars, bikes for everyone.
this is also true: if you drive car, you're either #climatedenier or #hypocrite.i'm a bicycle mechanic, who has never had a driving license, and who has been in prison for protesting the fossil fuels, so i'm not providing cover for that industry.
however, i doubt that any #vegan would argue against #veganism, so now i'm worried you only brought up fossil fuels only to deflect and distract from you eating animals. am i wrong?
