            Dang there are apparently very good auroras happening! But it won't be dark for an hour and a half. I may have to go to bed and set an alarm for 1am... I'm so tired...

              @sundogplanets camera trick for lighting shots during a thunderstorm . Set a camera up with manual exposure settings (on a tripod) with a really long exposure time, small aperture (big f number) long shutter speed, or manually hold shutter open, Then wait for a lightning.

              The lighting will be so bright it will illuminate the scene.

              Just don’t leave the camera or its operator where it will be struck by lightning
