This is America, it is typical of many employers, especially when working with immigrants. I have personal experience with 2 East Indian immigrants working at Duncan Donuts who screwed them in more ways than that. America has been a land ruled by the wealthy since 1787, see it believe it!

And not to leave out the commute time & $$ (personal vehicle or public transportation or walking/biking) -- between each of those jobs -- to insure the brain is sucked dry of any ambition.
