MS is still needed to play Minecraft and Forza Horizon. My Google Account is for purchased apps from google play (I'm installing these with the Aurora Store).

grapheneos on my pixel 10 pro. i have a dormant gmail account that i created years ago when you could get away with no name, phone number, etc. i think about getting rid of it but can't help but think it still be useful.
cachyos as my daily driver. planning on creating a dual boot with void linux. i have a "just in case" windows 11 partition on my laptop. though all i really do with it these days is boot in to it every 3/4 months to make sure its still functional and update it

@Tutanota For music production, de-microsoft ist unfortunately still rather difficult. Most commercial providers of high quality virtual instruments are still not interested in supporting formats that work in Linux.

Microsoft: No Windows in years. Only Minecraft left. Next concern: Microsoft wanted to buy Discord and now Discord CEO is a former CEO of Activision Blizzard (Microsoft), so could be harder to avoid Microsoft later

I select the stuff I don't want net access on the 'droid and remove Comms via net & data (= my phone stays cool and faster)

Use "duckduckgo browser" app to stop all other apps talking to their HQ. so far this week stopped 68,000+ attempts to track / collect data about me if your not using it you are compromised!

@Tutanota Linux: De-M$ for 20+ years. Couldn't afford to upgrade hardware with every OS update. Most of my computers/laptops are over 10 years old, and many of them were free, from friends.

Am the admin for an organization's FB page, otherwise, I don't use it.

I'm still on Android, but most of the apps I use are from F-droid. I would like to use a phone with an open source OS, but only if it can be run on an under-$250 phone, and on my current carrier.

The only tie I still have to Google is the integrated map on my Hyundai Kona infotainment system, and I can't disable it or install an alternative.

Anyone know how to root an infotainment system?
