@dazfuller I think "morging" is one of those weird "sourcemaxxing" things all the cool kids are doing these days
@msh @dazfuller It's Morging Time!

I don't know why Tim is working in the opposite direction, but I can see that he never once "morges" his code back into develop, let alone doing it "continvoucly"
Update:
It looks as though after 4-5 months the page has been updated, but if you want to see the image in situ still then the way back machine has you covered.
@dazfuller that’s a “tim-line”, Tim Button’s git-flow. Tim is the younger brother of Benjamin

@dazfuller no surprise here. I always found MS's online docs to be kinda crap.
Which is weird, because MS Press has some of the best IT books ever... is MS Press even still a thing, though? -
@dazfuller this company has a market cap of $2.98 Trillion.
@fancysandwiches @dazfuller if anyone needs proof that we entered some weird alternative timeline some time in the last 10 years, this valuation is it.

@dazfuller as I shared with @munin
I love the English #language! Ever-evolving with new verbs and terms. (Now, with #slopification!) In this instance, I’ll gladly employ “to morg” because, based purely on context, it seems to be defined as
morg / mɔrg /
verb
to cause a deadly or grossly negligent outcome upon mergeUse in a sentence
*After the changes were shipped, they published just before failover and morged the live, resulting in an outage for the on call.*@aleciabatson @dazfuller @munin, as well that that's not a soft ‘g’ because otherwise it'd sound very like “merge” (in a strong Northumbrian accent)…
-
@bartholin @ohmrun @dazfuller Or is it? I think it's an nm ligature so it's Tinm.
@moira @bartholin @ohmrun @dazfuller
Would we be able to discern Tinm from Timn? -

@dazfuller when Microsoft meets AI meets ESL
-
@dazfuller Tim is looking for an earlier sane commit before that mess to hard reset
@db @dazfuller Timm!
-
@db every time I look at it I find another layer of madness
@dazfuller @db its the madness that keeps on giving. like Cthulhu
-
@dazfuller That's Tim travelling back in time to fix his morge strategy.
@ohmrun @dazfuller Timm

@lp0_on_fire @aleciabatson @munin have we entered the “gif” debate for morge already!
-
@moira @bartholin @ohmrun @dazfuller
Would we be able to discern Tinm from Timn?@musevg @moira @bartholin @ohmrun only in terms of how they progress through time

@synlogic4242 @db I think even Cthulhu look at this diagram with horror

@dazfuller @aleciabatson @munin, hold on. Morg or morge? There seems to be some confusion here.
-
@bencomp @dazfuller It was there yesterday when I looked at it.
I actually submitted negative feedback letting them know in particular how unhelpful that image was. Between that and the flack here on Masto, wouldn't be surprised if someone went "oh shit" and fixed it.

@lp0_on_fire @aleciabatson @munin no, the extra e was a typo on my part. Can’t believe I misspelt it so soon
-
@dazfuller Only bugfixes!
@alxndr @dazfuller Like OnlyFans, except for techies.

@moira @bartholin @ohmrun @dazfuller
Would we be able to discern Tinm from Timn?@musevg @bartholin @ohmrun @dazfuller Tachyon Tinm is definitionally undetectable!

@dazfuller The AI is correct, this is how GitHub works now.
