I've had to learn more than I wanted to about defamation law and SLAPPS and that's the stuff popping into my head.
That doesn't mean they couldn't be in the wrong here, and it is disappointing in any case.

@Npars01 @davidgerard ah, ok. But that was referring to my suggestion that Amnesty might be exploiting the Streisand effect. Which amounted to defending their reputation by suggesting they are willing to sacrifice it to spread that report. I wasn't being entirely serious, but apparently the idea had also been floated before.
