Wedding done. I looked terrific. Caught up with a lot of old friends (AND enemies). Wedding was great. Food was great. I made friends with one of the women working, so she kept stealing wine from other tables and giving it to me, so I drank a lot of wine. Just to be polite, of course. As an entirely separate coincidence I therefore started the dancefloor going and had to be pried away around midnight with the promise of something bready. Not saying I danced a lot but I apparently did twenty thousand steps last night and I also told quite a lot of people I was in love with them. I am pretty sure I also proposed to at least 5 people. I also kissed the brides father. I am a stone cold nightmare at weddings. Something about the joy and the sugar that just sends me. I've showered and had make feel better pills, coffee and electrolytes. I now want to go and see the sea. I'm just saying stuff now. Like that. And this. It's all just words from my mind. @TheBreadmonkey There is some highly embarrassing footage of me drunken dancing at a friend's wedding. It starts off well enough to gather some observers who clapped me on, but you can literally see the increased blood flow causing the excess alcohol to kick in. By the end, I'm losing my balance and some kindly lady said, "Let's sit down, shall we?" and led me to a table.
Thank goodness for that lady, 'cos I'm pretty sure I was about to start breakdancing, which would have been a catastrophe!

it was quite boring; some guy didn't look over his left shoulder before opening the car door, which he did the instant I was passing on my bicycle on my way to said wedding the story does have two small twists, one of which is literal: Even though I dove over the handlebar I somehow managed to twist in the air & hit the ground squarely with the back of my head 
also, I was carrying a wedding gift of two hand-made ceramic cups & they didn't break!

this is the third time in my life I've been wiped out by this exact maneuver, so yes, I'm really paranoid about it, too - but when biking in the city I pass literally 1000s of parked cars & you just can't be diligent 100% of the time...The only thing that scares me worse is if it's a truck, the door opening exactly at head height
far fewer trucks though, so easier to be aware of.
