In physics, curved spacetime is the mathematical model in which, with Einstein's theory of general relativity, gravity naturally arises, as opposed to being described as a fundamental force in Newton's static Euclidean reference frame.

Objects move along geodesics—curved paths determined by the local geometry of spacetime—rather than being influenced directly by distant bodies.

@catsalad I believe the geometrical name for that is a “catenary”, or if not it should be.

@catsalad That orange cat is so large, it has other, smaller orange cats in close orbit around it.

@catsalad Y saw the same photo, but with another cat and other tile color... Is this a meme or something (?) I am curious now on finding its origin.

@catsalad If bodies are non-distant and look/smell like a treat, objects move as well. I know the science

@catsalad even Speedy Gonzalez isn't fast enough to escape kitty's gravitational pull

@catsalad Does light bend around that fat cat? Can you see things behind him?

@catsalad Awesome photo and description, brought a smile. Thank you.

@notaname @catsalad I'm curious too now. The cat doesn't match the tiles—the cat it's sharp at the front and becomes out of focus as we move towards the back, but the tiles at that distance are still in focus. As though different camera settings were used, or different lenses even.
I wonder if one picture is an attempt at a more realistic version of the other? "Make the cat look more round and heavy, and make the tiles sag more" or whatever?

Sadly I now look at images like this with deep scepticism. AI? I hope not but suspect it is. -

@catsalad Gravity sucks!

That's one seriously space-time deforming relatavistic cat you got there.
