Anti-coup protesters in İzmit near İstanbul (not the same as İzmir) broke through the rioting pro-coup cops' blockade and kept on marching, led by the Mayor, Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet.

When the main Ankara anti-coup protest ended at Güven Park, people were encouraged to go to the Middle East Technical University to continue, but on the way the pro-coup cops obstructed and then attacked with water cannons and pepper spray.

In İstanbul, doctors and pharmacists held a demo (which is currently blanket banned) to Saraçhane wearing their white coats, against Erdoğan's current coup, under banner of "We Stand for Democracy and the Will of the People", with slogans like "This is just the beginning, we will continue the struggle", "Down with tyranny, long live freedom", "We will not allow coups" and "United we will win".
Among others, the President of the Turkish Medical Association (TTB, equivalent of e.g. in USA the American Medical Association) Central Council said "We know very well as doctors in this country that there can be no savings on healthcare. But we also know that you cannot save on democracy or freedom either. Because without democracy, there is no health, no future, no humanity. Therefore, as doctors of this country, we must stand up for democracy and freedoms to protect the health of our people".
If I remember correctly previous holder of that position, a top specialist in forensic medicine, was decreed removed for having stated war crime, use of chemical weapons, accusations should be investigated.
