For a very long time the supposed actual definition of what made modern humans special compared to other fellow animals was that "humans use tools" and it was claimed that other animals just did not, ever.
This has of course as you hopefully are well aware of been thoroughly debunked as several other animals have been shown to use tools both after trained by humans and more importantly also entirely independently, in some cases even core to their entire normal behavior for species survival. Why do I remind you of this?
Well, here's Veronika the cow in a recent scientific study published in Current Biology demonstrating bovine tool use, specifically broom for multi-purpose use.

The scientists have particularly noted that while cows are generally widely associated with being especially "dumb", that may be a reflection not of the cows themselves but of the living conditions that humans are forcing the cows to live in by conditions such as living one's entire life in small booths not promoting or even giving any possibility of developing one's cognitive and creative capacity.
Much like how humans are harmed, not helped, by imprisonment. If you prefer a non-scientific article, here's one https://www.straitstimes.com/world/bovine-intervention-tool-using-cow-scratches-the-surface-of-animal-intelligence?ref=latest-headlines out of several.
