@alexadeswift @webhat @domo Surely that would fit the definition of vegan? Nobody expects you to starve to death.

@alexadeswift @webhat @domo I'm going by the definition of the vegan society:
https://www.vegansociety.com/go-vegan/definition-veganismIf it is about food only, I just don't eat, but not everyone's health allows for skipping meals. I can't avoid lactose in medicine, though. I have even been on levothyroxine containing gelatine because that brand was the only one available in the country at the time. And then I think about all the animal exploitation by proxy. If I listen to string instruments, (a part of) my money goes to the musicians and the more they are listened to, the more they play, so they use my money to buy horsehair bows and perhaps even sheep gut (it is called catgut, but it is sheep gut) strings.
I went vegan in Croatia in 2004., the uni restaurants had nothing for me, I could eat plain boiled potatoes or rice, and cabbage with vinaigrette. The only lunch I could buy at the nearby convenience store were pickles and Mannerschnitte. So I had to cook everything myself, but I also understand that that is not an option for everyone.
I once took friends to the "best pizzeria in Zagreb" expecting their focaccia to be vegan, but it turned out that the dough contained milk, so I was sitting there drinking beer and watching my friends eat. Smaller towns even in developed countries are still that bad.

Exactly this! I go by their definition as well and good grief you should have seen the pile in by vegan police in FB over it! The whole point of veganism is to do absolutely everything we can to reduce animal suffering, including that of human animals!
If we were to cut out ALL animal products overnight, the world would be a mess. And veggies? The amount of animals killed in even organic farming is horrific, and I know this from working between exams and vacations on a fruit farm.
And my hiking boots? Leather, because anything else would be horrifically bad for my feet

️ and as such I cherish them because I understand the full cost, beyond money. We do what we can, and for my part, enjoy it when non veggie/vegans don't believe me when I tell them that, if we arr having a discussion about veganism they are safe as omnis around me as the self appointed Vegan Police won't attack them, they will attack me!

which is more painful: for you to walk in vegan hiking boots, or for cow to be killed and made into boots? -
And lo, the Vegan Police Strike below!

1. You do not know my body
2. You do not know my physical needs
3. You do not know my sensory needs
4. Your ethics and moral are YOURS. Not mine
5. You do not know how aware or not I am of animal suffering
6. You do not know how I acquired my boots
7. You do not know whether or not any or all of my other clothing is vegan or not
8. It is NOT your place to impose YOUR ethics, morals or views on others! You are absolutely NOT here to police me, or others, for any decisions we may or may not make, no matter how painfully or not, in our day to day lives including looking after our disabilities. Nobody appointed You to be the Vegan Police, so for fucks sake DESIST and rather than slagging us off and calling us dramatic if you absolutely must reply as reply guys, do so constructively and point us to places that may actually cater for our needs!?

@alexadeswift @webhat @rhelune @domo
there is real police causing real harm towards activists fighting to end the animal holocaust which has more than 2.000.000.000.000 victims per year.please consider that before crying about imaginary woke police oppressing you.
