It is deeply funny to me that Mastodon is a place where AI bros cry because they can't get any traction, but a single picture of moss can give anyone, no matter their other content or follower count, positive feedback for the rest of time.

@paparatti Therefore, I love it to be here. Mastodon gave me a maximum of listeners, when I talked about #moss: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/moss-the-emerald-treasure/id1630784381?i=1000707856049
You can talk about the most interesting topics but moss is grounding people, it's miniature worlds are easy and cheap to visit ... I was surprised how much people are interested ... not only on Mastodon.

@jef @paparatti LichenSubscribe is peak hashtagging.
@JustBr0wzing like florespondence. 🤭 @jef @paparatti

@paparatti
How about a digital block of moss. It is moss, yet it is artificial! What will happen? What would John Mastodon do?@leadore @paparatti add some bonemeal?

@paparatti Try pictures of squirrels and get blown away by the responses!

-
@paparatti This is the way.
-
@hungryjoe that's the part you're supposed to work out by yourself! Everything gets a hashtag, for your own sanity and the good of someone else's organic search.
@paparatti @hungryjoe To be fair, if it's a good moss pic, someone will comment that it needs the mosstodon hashtag to let all the other mosspeople check it out. (At least that's what I hope.)
-
@Brett_E_Carlock @paparatti What's the windturbine hashtag?
-
@tuban_muzuru @paparatti Lovely vines above the moss too. Alt text is kind of rude though.
-
@paparatti even works with lichen
Can confirm personally!@isagalaev @paparatti Honestly, I slightly prefer a good lichen pic to moss. But both are lovely.
-
@leadore @paparatti What would John MOSStodon do?
@aktbar @leadore @paparatti Probably this:

@paparatti I'm so proud of #mosstodon. I don't think anything else I've created online will ever compare to the amount of joy it brings me, and others.

@paparatti I stopped posting to the ThickTrunkTuesday hashtag because I couldn't handle all the interaction I was getting from all the tree enthusiasts. It made me too popular.
-
@aktbar @leadore @paparatti Probably this:
@jedimb @aktbar @leadore @paparatti "lichen subscribe"
-
Try it. Post a picture of moss. See what happens.
@paparatti a cat on moss would cause riots.
-
@paparatti
Ok, but you should tag #mosstodon if you want to see some moss.@lysdexic @paparatti And don't forget possibly my favourite hashtag of all time, #LichenSubscribe

@paparatti@phire.place
Fully agree.
However my dad who is a visual artist and photo-activist also can't get any traction because some branches of art don't really have a place here either. There are artists in Fedi, but most of them draw anime, landscapes or fairly simple stuff anyone can understand, but give them an abstract art piece and the post will flop.
He fled the zuck site a couple years ago when it started becoming a Neonazi hellhole, and one of the things he complains most about is he used to interact with museum owners, other world re-noun artists, other photo-activists and etc, but none of those people came here, so he is effectively missing job opportunities by being here.
Still worth the mental coherence of knowing he is not providing data (which is money) to a nazi, but he definitely is missing stuff.
Like I tell him, it sadly is not something we can help from the fediverse, as it is up to those people to join the fediverse, we can't force them. But it is kind of frustrating. -

Ok then, I'll share some Moss!
Lets see how many interactions he'll get.
