If that's the case though, then the fact that pinning reply will immediately appear on my profile if I already have a column with it open must be a bug. Feels like there's something unintended happening either way.
yeah that makes sense: appear/ disappear smells like a bug, not policy

It's a little niggle and I like Mastodon otherwise, including the instance I'm on (I have a small monthly DD donation running to support it). I'd be very reluctant to start over somewhere else.

@Mastodon I like how it became easier to edit profiles and switch off boosts. The 'Following you' badge seemed logical and informative. The fact that the same info now requires a treasure hunt is puzzling.
I have no suggested featured hashtags. My Featured menu states I haven't set any hashtags, which doesn't reflect the reality; I have. They are hovering above my Activity with no label of what they are. -

A new Activity tab has a dropdown menu for filtering different views of information (posts, boosts, replies) so you can find the information you're interested in.

@meganmariehart @Mastodon @imanijoy something is very odd- the latest ESR is 140.9.0esr, i just downloaded it. you can also see here in Wikipedia, "Firefox 115 ESR were released on July 4, 2023":

i'd suggest manually installing the latest version and trying again.

@meganmariehart @Mastodon @imanijoy alright i figured it out. Firefox 115.34esr is the latest of version 115, which originally came out in 2023. 115.34 came out a few days ago, but that was for critical security fixes- functionally the browser is still ~3 years old.
i did find a fix which should be up next week or so, but i still recommend you update your browser if you can.

Absolutely!
I double-checked with the team on this: Personal notes are a Mastodon-specific app feature, and by design are not federated. We'll take note of the request to add exporting functionality to personal notes. Thanks!

I can't use mastodon as my primary social media yet because the ui and ux are still not Facebooky enough to entice my family and friends over from facebook.
@kayrah87 surely Mastodon is not and will never be a replacement for FB? Unless you're setting up a private server and all posts are private to that server. Or you post public on Facebook?
but I NEED a search bar for my bookmarks, hashtags, favorites and profile posts. A sorting filter for posts on a profile as oldest, newest, popular (based on the most boosts, comments and quoted posts)
