        @theruran win32k.sys oughta be in there somewhere; the mere fact that it still exists means it must be load-bearing _somehow_, even if nobody outside MS understands why

                @theruran I think there's a good chance that there _isn't_ any reason better than "nobody with internal project planning authority sees _enough_ value to justify the work required" but surely the steady drumbeat of kernel-mode CVEs involving win32k over the past couple decades should have added up to "we oughta do this" by now...

                  @zwol @theruran no old API landscape will be removed by Microsoft.
                  If there was a reason 30 years ago to link against that dll, it can't be removed now.
