If it wasn't for the obvious benefits of CachyOS being the fastest Linux distro I have tried. I would definitely give Bazzite a try as a daily driver, it seems like such a well build distro. I would probably end up at CachyOS anyway, because of various advantages when working with music production, but Bazzite could be a very good choice for people looking for a nice looking distro with a clear focus on gaming.

Also, I just installed Bazzite in Boxes, and Boxes runs SO WELL on CachyOS.

And as you might have noticed, I'm getting pretty close at being a real CachyOS fanboy 😄

@mosgaard I considered putting CachyOS on my list of contenders to test when I get back to it - except I scrolled to the end of the website & saw "Our sponsors: Framework + Cloudflare"...? 😬😬😬

@jwcph I can definitely understand that can be a dealbreaker.

I have decided to live with it for now, with the very modest contributions they have received. I understand how doing a distro in your spare time, can sometimes be extremely unrewarding, when we - the users - not contribute financially enough to make the work sustainable. It’s the problem of most Linux organizations, and why we see so much traffic in and out of projects.

It’s also a command-line “heavy” distro (for music production)

@mosgaard @jwcph Also, just because they get money from those companies doesn't necessarily mean they have to listen to those companies on what to do with them.

@cameron_bosch @mosgaard Well, we know this isn't true; money talks - but even if it was, it still says something about who they want to work with & how they make decisions...
