I assembled some stained glass! My soldering skills could use some work, but i feel ok for a first effort
It's a shuttlecock, which is a whole thing near where i live.

i did it many years ago and definitely enjoyed it ... something i'd like to try again at some point. was this at a workshop, or have you a new hobby? -

@nash it's definitely a "if you know, you know" kind of thing. I am sure people could track down my geography from posts, but i try to be at least a bit cautious

Wikipedia suggests they may have once used rooster feathers? They're used in badmitton

@bomkatt that is sweet! it reminds me that I have seen stained glass pieces where some sort of metal webbing or tracery was applied over certain pieces, to give them special texture (it might have been an insect wing design?) if you were ever in the mood to do Shuttlecock #2 it would be keen to try to match the feathering or the webbing on those
