OMG!! I am at Boskone, a scifi/fantasy convention in Boston. Wearing my Doctor Who inspired sweater that I designed & knitted (as one does).
2 ppl sitting nearby admired the sweater. I made the appropriate answer: "thank you, I made it myself."
1 of the pair asked me if I'd heard of Barbara Walker.
Yes, I said, she is one of my knitting heroes.
He smiles & says "She was my mother."
Cue muppet flailing & embarrassing fangirl squealing.
And I got to (with permission) touch a sweater she had knitted!!!!!
