(1/2)…In the past, I would post thoughtfully and interact with every single comment in the hopes of along discussion and insight on both myself. And the person commenting. Now it is really just “Oh. Hey, this is something I think human eyes will appreciate and vibe with, let’s post it!“. And then I always make sure all notifications are turned off, which is more commentary on spam and noise than it is on my desire to find humans in an increasingly lonely world.
Funny how that happened.

But, to be clear and explicit about it, I am here trying anew on the fediverse to have a different experience. To read the thread. To make a silly or thoughtful discussion. To be present as a human.
Will it work? One way to see !

@embers_tide
I hope you find some good chatter and discussion here.Just a little hint, use hashtags in your post, to help us find you (we follow hashtags that interest us)
I recommend following @FediTips for some great advice on how to get the best here

@embers_tide We're a quite thoughtful network, and there is not an opaque algorithm picking which of your things might be seen by others, so maybe it'll work.
Anyway, follow a lot of people that seem interesting, add alt text to your images, don't share AI slop, follow hashtags, add hashtags, and have fun. Be welcome!

Hi Embers, welcome
It is a bit more human and humane on here, as there is no algorithm pushing stuff at you or hiding stuff from you.
It can take a bit longer to get going, but once you do the discourse feels more genuine and human IMHO.
I'm trying to help new people get going on here more easily, so please feel free to ask if you want help with anything
There is also help for new people on the site at https://fedi.tips (esp. "Quick Start" at top).
