@juliette @neodiablow I think it's deeper than that, Danes also seek consensus in e.g. the workplace and in their relationships and personal lives. I think it's a core cultural value, tbh.The only Danish party which refuses to compromise is Enhedslisten - the far left party - which as a consequence never gets anything done, politically. They're always the first party to leave any negotiations in a huff.But - something like 80% of all Danish legislation is voted through with bipartisan support. And politicians of all parties are in committees together, so they also know each other well from the day to day, I am sure that helps when cutting deals as well.Edit: I've been trying to follow French politics more, but it's difficult. Danish newspapers are not interested in reporting about it, and the level of understanding I seek is deeper than whatever surface stuff I can get from Reuters and other international outlets.And, of course, the political culture is so different.
