For a hashtag to have meaning, it has to become a shared social tool, a way for people to gather around an idea, not just a personal label.

@witchescauldron True, but hashtags have to start somewhere. Sometimes a hashtag doesn't exist and you have to make one up.But even if no one else uses it, it still has a use of grouping similar themed posts together, so anyone clicking the tag can see what you've posted.
