@grammargirl As a not-native but pretty proficient English speaker, I'd be inclined to accept / use "Here comes he" in the right context - after all, it's not all that different from, say, "no stranger [to X] is he" or "this is he" in terms of cadence & understandability. I know there's no verb in those but I don't see any reason why verbs should be special in this kind of sentence construction
