@CStamp I still disagree. They haven't appropriated anything; "conservative" ALWAYS meant those things, it's just open now. It was always a patriarchal = misogynist, power supremacist = racist world view - I won't even dignify it by calling it an ideology, because it isn't ideologically coherent, it's just "whatever benefits us, the white people holding power, and lets us keep that power forever". That power structure & all its commensurate horror is always what they wanted to conserve.
