It does my head in that this silk, woven by hand, dyed by hand 6 decades ago, using a mud dyeing technique lost none its colour. And yet a month old black cotton t-shirt can end up going grey in 3 washes. They made shit to last. And we could too, if we bothered.

It's not the absolute neatest hem I've ever hemmed, as it's entirely machine sewn... But it sure was fast compared to entirely hand sewn, and the herringbone tape is really nice and goes well with the skirt. Now to finish these threads and the overlap by hand, and that'll be a theoretically completed skirt, just sans decorations.#Sewing

Oh yeah. And guess how many metres of boning I had to put into this very short corset for a rather small person, which is myself? Fucking almost five metres. Fucking hell. Corsets, not even once, unless you have 11 million moneys to pay someone else to do it!
