    The #aurora right now is amazing. It's like a 360 degrees green and red fog.

    Go outside if you can 🙂

    @Pepijn Enjoy! My Aurora app notified me that 120km away somewhere in Germany the aurora was visible. Nothing here as far as I know. Last time I got a notification in the Netherlands was October 2024. Went for a bike ride to the nearby woods with the least possible light pollution and didn't see much that night with clear skies, currently completely overcast so perhaps in another year and a bit 😭

      It's been a pretty good aurora for about two hours. Nice red and green patches looking north-ish. At times a minute or two of very bright columns.

      And then about 40 minutes ago..

      ..the sky just exploded and became a bright green dome. As if everything around us was engulfed in a green fog. Its brightness dimmed stars. A couple of very bright waves or streaks (like a toddler with a fatty green crayon) even cast shadows.

          @juliette @Pepijn Hello. Great photos.
          I am in Malmö Sweden. Should I look in the northern direction?

            @dacig North is where you have the highest change as it usually doesn't fully reach that far south. Right now it's gearing down though so try but don't expect too much.

                    @Trine_DK @Pepijn i have never seen this. Did the camera magnify the effect?

                      Yes.
                      The best aurora pictures are with quite long exposure times on the camera.

                          Well, long exposure time… like 2 seconds and this is what I got. That’s the usual my phones camera does when it’s dark.
                          It was quite spectacular without the camera.
