@misty What’s the difference between pared and removemacai, (I did see removemacai explicitly credit pared).

@misty what do folks recommend for people who are not that tech savvy but still would like to remove the AI?

@CuriousMagpie @misty
As someone a little more tech savvy than average, but far from expert, removemacai looks a bit simpler to use with simpler documentation. The dev does appropriately credit pared but perhaps improves upon it in terms of user experience. -

@misty - MacOS 26 allowed users to turn off Apple Intelligence, yet still use Photos > Clean Up.
I’d use either of these nuclear options on 27.
Will review this developer’s (pared) GitHub as to the possibilities. -

The kind of blowhards that don't credit someone elses work often make other mistakes. I'd wait to use RemoveMacAI until I'd seen it had been well vetted. If it's buggy imagine the damage it could do. Best solution: stop using MacOS. Apple's as evil these days as Alphabet or Microsoft. Run away, run away!

@rayotron “Stop using MacOS” is not a helpful answer for the record and I would not recommend jumping into a stranger’s mentions to say this

@misty I stand by what I said but am sorry if I posted it in the wrong manner.

@misty thank you for the tool! One question, its it possible for apple to remotely patch this or only on a macos version bump?

@misty thank you for the better citation

@glyph You’re welcome! I see the other project eventually added attribution, but it seems like it’s been getting 100% of the credit and I wanted to make sure the original project got its due too.

@Sobex I haven’t tried both myself. The removemacai person says his version is meant to streamline the number of commands you need to call for it to work, but they both have the same core features. removemacai didn’t originally credit pared; he added that later.
