I got some help with the webfinger discoverability and you can now find your #Nolto profile from any instance in #fediverse That caused some loops though so we moved the site to https://www.nolto.social and there is no redirection so it will be difficult to spread the word.

I’m taking some time off the project due to some really hard comments on Mastodon. I really thought they wouldn’t get to me but they did. I hate the internet.

I'm sincerely sorry that you've had to take harassment when trying to improve the way we communicate online.

I have also had the veil of "Open source Robin Hooding" pulled plenty of times, not that I've ever even tried to your magnitude.

But there is something to realizing that most innovations, no matter how deep, were either a shipped product by a marketing genius of the work of one person toiling in the face of 10.000 perpetual requests.

People like you change the world. The people who write comments like that don't.

But understandable. As much as I love them and consider myself part of it, at times the FOSS & privacy crowds can be harsh and unnuanced. Especially online (what's new). Always saddens me, it's the behaviour we normally detest. Know that you're appreciated by many as well, even if less vocally

I for one applaud your effort to provide a professional network alternative for the #fediverse, and I want Nolto to succeed. I hope your pause isn't too long, and that you can find the energy and motivation to keep building on this cool project. Remember that the silent positives usually outnumber the noisy negatives!

One of the ways to handle this is being part of a group and not being alone. So try to expand the group of people behind #nolto (it seems to be primarily you). Try to create a diverse group so not only developers but other roles as well. There are a lot of people wanting #nolto to succeed and want to help (including me ).
