@brucelawson Classic EU move would be to pass this around for ~12 years, then give contracts to companies with an office near Brussels who deploy via GitHub.

@brucelawson well technically the EU would be able to but for some reason people only think about AWS, GCP, and maybe Azure when they think about "the cloud". Even if they just need basic shit that every 10 year old could deploy on a potato...

@brucelawson this is the chance for us in the EU as for the US citizenry as well. To de#enshittify the Internet, we need to start building these alternatives i.e. detoxify our digital infrastructure. Cory Doctorow laid out the case for this in the 39C3. #unplugtrump

@brucelawson Added my 2 cents! Thanks for sharing. I would not have seen this otherwise even though I am registered on this "lovely, little" platform.

@brucelawson it will result in American companies firing 463,000 of their European employees who will then maybe find jobs with European companies doing similar work but for less pay because of the smaller market

@brucelawson thanks, came across this before and each time I try to sign in, I end up in a forest of redirects and “eu login” problems.
If only the EU commission cared about UX and open source as much as it cares about bureaucracy protecting big business.
