#libraries@mtechman Somehow, I'd never heard of most of those! Which caused me to end up on my local library's website and discover that they have a whole bunch of other stuff I was unaware of.

@tehstu barely related..if your library has Kanopy, one of the free (no tickets) borrows my husband and I both really liked was Grass...

@drakakis Yes! Not every library has it, but I've got out-of-area card for Queens (NY) and it's got Kanopy!

Actually sticking signs like that up at libraries and such might increase Fediverse adoption!

Personally, I think people are better off promoting their favorite communities. Helps with the "pick a server" conundrum.

#libraries@mtechman The only thing - the _only_ thing I don't like about these services is the data collected by the companies that provide the services, unlike libraries which do not retain patron's borrowing records after the items are returned.

#librariesthe movies & TV shows on Hoopla are not really the same as those on Netflix HOWEVER the audiobook services via the public library are SO much better than audible -- my local library has audiobooks through Hoopla, Libby, and Cloud Library, between the 3 of them you can find pretty much anything

make them into bookmarks and have a stack of bookmarks ready at the desk to be handed out

There are lots of places to post fliers. My library has racks right by the front door for that sort of thing. And there are places that have bulletin boards where you can post flyers, too!

@peachfront I'm lucky to get some things on DVD, too. One thing I've noticed on Hoopla that I really like is having the first sentence of some audiobook descriptions say, "This audiobook is narrated by an AI voice."..
