@meraord I have a fairphone FP3 with /e/os. It works fine, since 2019. I replaced the module containg the usb c connector using the screwdriver they delivered with the phone, no problem. I got a system update (/e/os 3.4) just this week, for that and also for my samsung tablet.
My usage is probably not that advanced, but the phone covers my needs, and technically works fine.@anderslund @meraord I'm mostly concerned about Swedish banking apps on non-android phones. How is that experience?

Remember that this is only a problem if you use a #degoogled android, like #e_os. Fairphone with the default android afaic have no problems - except carrying google play ofc ...

Thanks for the quick replyIn Denmark, using /e/os with MicroG, some banking apps works, some doesen't, depending of weather the supplier use google play integrity api. Some public apps works, some not. Our national ID (MitID) does not, mobilepay (vippsmobilepay) does not, which is the biggest issue, because there is no alternative. For banking, you can use webbanking, and for the rest there are physical alternatives.

#phone #mobilephone #mobile@meraord Jag har en Fairphone 4. Jag har fått göra två större reparation då jag byte ut skärmen och usb laddaren, men annars har den fungerat bra. Om du vill ha reparerbar elektronik är den bäst, annars finns det bättre alternativ.

@meraord @mesiverse2000 I use FP 5 since last Autumn. Still on Android, but I have successively degoogled it.
A key reason for buying FP was repairability/inheritability (rather than buying refurbed phones/more expensive screen repair for the kids).
It's bigger and heavier than my previous Samsung Galaxy S10.
I can't complain about the camera, but the degoogled alternatives to Google's photo editing app just aren't as good.
All things considered, I'm happy with my choice.

Fairphone är dock väldigt sega på att slänga ut uppdateringar. Jag har inte fått någon ny uppdatering sen november/december förra året.
Säkerhetsuppdateringar ska man få åtminstone en gång per månad. Sen har Android 16 varit ute sen förra sommaren eller nått sånt, men det kvittar mer för min del. Mindre AI till folket

@johank76 @meraord I'd need to apply for a Swedish passport to give a valid feedback :))
But regarding upgrade, there's one point I'd make: downloading an upgrade takes very very long and it stops multiple time in between. It's not about the network connection, but I think it's on the server side. It was already mentioned by another user here on Mastodon. Luckily, upgrading #murena e/OS happens not very often, but I hope this will be fixed. -

@anderslund @vague @meraord im using eOS and BankID and Länsförsäkringar. Have also successfully tested SEB, Sparbanken Syd, Avanza. No problem...

The updates download problems seem to happen when a lot of people are downloading at the same time. You can probably avoid them by downloading at night or waiting a week or two. Not a big problem in any case.

@leanderlindahl @meraord Sexan har en helt ok huvudkamera från Sony. Vidvinkeln något sämre, tele saknas.

I do not have a lot of experience with this, but you can use MicroG with a google accout, and I believe that also supports in app purchacing, and paying for apps. I haven't used it for the last years, preferring FOSS apps, maninly from F-droid whereever possible. -

@vague @anderslund @meraord I'm almost certain Swedbank works w eOS without logging into a Google account. You download it via App Lounge or Aurora Store.
