#openweb #danmarkskifter #organicmapsThe app lets you edit OpenStreetMap directly, so I've touched up my immediate surroundings (marking things as closed, adding new stores etc.). Changes were applied almost immediately - total #wikipedia style read/write web magic.

#openweb #danmarkskifter #organicmaps@jonassmith @openstreetmap thanks for using Organic Maps! It’s only a beginning of a big journey to provide a better alternative to other maps apps.

@organicmaps Thanks for making it! Haven't tried it for turn-by-turn driving navigation yet, but I'm very impressed. I'm thinking it can replace Google Maps out-of-the-box for me (except for public transportation route planning).

@jonassmith If/when you get really into editing OpenStreetMap, I would also recommend apps like StreetComplete (Android) and @everydoor (Android + iOS) for making edits on the go. There is also a Danish subcommunity on the official OSM-forum: https://community.openstreetmap.org/c/communities/dk/77 and a Danish main page on the OSM-wiki: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Da:Denmark

@jonassmith @mikill @everydoor I forget it too often, but it is really easy and quite fun to do. Just walk around your neighbourhood and see what you can improve

@organicmaps I’ve now tried the app for (car) driving. R u interested in feedback? (Here or elsewhere)

@jonassmith yes, ideally on our GitHub. There are many issues already mentioned there.

#openweb #danmarkskifter #organicmaps@jonassmith @openstreetmap I’d also recommend taking a look at @CoMaps — it’s a fork of Organic Maps made out of some dissatisfactions with Organic’s governance model. It’s a smaller project, so development is a tad slower, but it’s setting itself up for great success with its focus on community collaboration!

@moshimotsu @openstreetmap @CoMaps absolutely, I’m checking that out also
