Pass a law that says if the government is ever shut down for more than 1 consecutive day for any reason not including weekends or holidays, all members of Congress, plus the Presidential seat and all members of the Supreme Court's seats are immediately vacated and will be filled via a nationwide special election that weekend.

@CindyWeinstein @Lana I mean, I’d settle for that. It’s amazing to me that more Americans aren’t screaming about the hypocrisy of these (mostly independently wealthy) congress members continuing to draw pay and benefits when they’re the ones causing pain for everyone else.
