Well. Got laid off, position terminated this Saturday.

[spiegelmama@infosec.exchange]

@eramdam Brutal. I wish you power and success.

[relee@plush.city]

@eramdam That is a lot of years of experience!

I don't think I can help your job search, but if you'll allow a question... How many website fronends, or websites in general, does 12 years cover? I imagine a lot. o.o

[eramdam@social.erambert.me]

@relee let's just say ive been around long enough to have worked on a migration *to* React from something else older lol

[relee@plush.city]

@eramdam I taught myself C and also C++ in highschool but barely touched them again untill recently.

Found out I missed "Boost" entirely.

[autiomaa@mementomori.social]

@eramdam Considering how expensive living costs are in SF, that is not much of runway. Hopefully there will be a good job for you, someday soon.

[talentpipelinehr@mastodon.africa]

@eramdam Ready for a remote sales opportunity? SalesLoft, Inc. is looking for motivated candidates! Earn $12/hr plus commissions and bonuses. Send your CV to emily.harris.work@outlook.com.

[aut@hachyderm.io]

@eramdam @relee Reminds me how I've seen raw JS to Jquery to knockoutjs to angularJS to react throughout my career. Sorry to hear about the layoff, hope you find something quickly!

[jplebreton@mastodon.social]

@eramdam sorry to hear that. the field is clearly as valuable as it ever was and it's frustrating to see jerks with money pretending that's not the case!

[marcusxms@helvede.net]

@eramdam Sad to hear it! These firings are often a sign of failure in leadership, so we need new leadership + more small companies instead of giants.

I hope more of the fediverse start their own companies so I can find a good place if I get into a similar situation either voluntarily or involuntarily.

[marcusxms@helvede.net]

@eramdam ...also boosted now

[popful@mastodon.social]

@eramdam fuck, man 🫂 i'm so sorry

[bunnyhero@timeloop.cafe]

@eramdam damn that sucks, i'm sorry

[eramdam@social.erambert.me]

This happening on national black cat day is fucked up smh

[tournesol@peculiar.florist]

@eramdam how is this a national day ??

[noelnatasha@mastodon.social]

@eramdam this sucks, you'll find a better one

[questfortori@mastodon.social]

@eramdam shit, I’m so sorry, Damien - best of luck finding new work… 🫂

[ongion@mendeddrum.org]

@eramdam oh shit, sorry to hear that. Wish I could help

[beyondlimits@mastodon.social]

@eramdam Sorry about the position, Damien. Twelve years of front end is a deep well to draw on, even when the first week makes it feel otherwise. Hope the right team finds you quickly.
