      Explained by a Dane:

      A similar frog-like cake is called Kaj-cake after beloved children's TV frog Kaj.

      As Kaj and Kvaj (moron) sound similar it's often used as "moron cake", a traditional penance paid to colleagues for minor screwups in the workplace. (Was moron beer, times changed).

      The logical next step? Shaping it like an actual moron. Cakeogeny recapitulates phonetics, as the scientists say.

      I recommend the moron cake tradition, reduced stress cancels out the health risks.

        Also worth noticing that although the Danish "kvaj" isn't completely free of the ableism inherent in "moron", it's much more subdued.
