      @xankarn surely does appear constructed to cope with really heavy snowfall!

      Gorgeous old church!

        Another church scene from Undredal. Active congregation since 1147. #Norway

        @xankarn Great photos. So evocative. There's something about the humble small white curving fence in this one, faced off against the majestic harsh landscape, that makes it seem like a brave magical little church.

          @CiaraNi

          They say it’s the oldest wooden church in Europe. There are just a few dozen full time residents. A brave and resilient community for sure.

            @xankarn Such a history to it too, so - if those wooden walls could talk.

                  These are great photos. B/W really captures the spooky aspect.

                  I just noticed the birds circling. Perfect.

                    Love 'em! But it's easy to misunderstand the scale. A person is twice as tall as the lowest set of eaves!

                    @mrundkvist I was baptised in Borgund Stave Church. Dark ceremony (literally, as there is no artificial light in there). @xankarn

                      @xankarn @mrundkvist I’m not particularily religious anymore, but still a fun memory (I baptised at 14). Bergen is good, I recommend.
