Can they bring their photographers, biographer, and media team? 🤪

An interesting idea, but it would limit candidates to only the wealthy class, or those the wealthy class hire.

@Strandjunker I'm good with them being paid the going wage. I would add restaurant work.

@Strandjunker maybe everyone should spend a year in volunteer service, like this, as a condition for high school graduation. As far as the cost goes, we should have a UBI, folks.

@Strandjunker How do you propose we implement this?

@Strandjunker @paul_ipv6 You almost make it sound like a politician is supposed to be a civil servant.

@Strandjunker I think it should be paid, but you can't bring any savings with you and have to live on what they pay an average worker in that area

@Strandjunker That would certainly ensure only the wealthy participate. Congratulations!

@Strandjunker Or perhaps paid, but they have to live on the salary.

@Strandjunker This sounds like an excellent idea, although I'm not sure about the unpaid bit as it could skew things towards wealthier candidates (how much this happens in reality may vary between countries). Arguably, it might be better to require that they live on the normal pay in those sectors.
