@tip @markmetz the name is branded. How open they are with the production process, which parts are patented – if at all – has nothing to do with it. But it *should* be so no other company files patents and blocks or trolls the advancement with that idea.

Mycelium contains chitin, lipids, and proteins that are all less hydrophilic than simple cellulose or cornstarch. One class of proteins in some mycelium are called “hydrophobins” which can form a hydrophobic coating.

@markmetz I know this, many companies already produce it. In our company, we are testing it.
Unfortunately, it looks like our products are too heavy (10–20 kg) and it cannot protect them during transport.
Transport companies are not very careful. #ecology
