Turns out AI can cause more problems than it solves. Cleaning up AI slop is one issue. 36% of AI execs at companies with $1B+ in annual rev reported an AI incident that led to data loss, financial damage, brand damage or operational disruptions. Major companies are now limiting employee AI usage. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/oct/13/ai-companies-rushed-workers-fallout

@amydiehl Are you kidding me? This magical pixie dust was supposed to have cured cancer by now. It can't be that it was smoke, mirrors, and various forms of shit!

              This post is sarcasm.

@amydiehl The lack of awareness is astounding: " "Microsoft found that adding agents to a broken process still leaves a broken process” and “speeding up one step just creates a longer queue at the next.” "

Like who would've thought that would happen when people abdicate responsibility for thinking?

@amydiehl I think there'll be a lot more of this nonsense before companies realise AI shouldn't be used to replace thinking. At best, it should be a supplement, not substitute.

And this is also why organisations should consult a service designer or business analyst before automating everything. You know - the people they sacked because they thought AI could replace them.
