    @holly there’s a really lovely documentary about Iceland’s glaciers that’s narrated by the guy who wrote this, it’s called Time and Water and near the end it goes into him figuring out what to write on this plaque

                    I read a news story the other month about a Swiss town where they have an annual religious rite.

                    It used to be dedicated towards pushing the glacier back.

                    Now it is dedicated to pulled the glacier forward.
