There are some constraints about this role that I can't do anything about.
We have to require a college degree -- we've gone to bat against this with University HR and lost in the past.
You likely need to be a US citizen and US based, because of the way we work with DOE labs.

An associate's works.If I had my way we wouldn't require a degree at all, but central university HR won't budge on this. It's a bad rule, but not one that I have the power to change.

I feel a little bad about putting the word out when I know it's not equally open to everyone.
There's no question in my mind that the degree and US requirements are depriving us of a lot of very cool and talented people.

I appreciate the offer, but probably not (just being real with you).Hiring for a university unit has to go through a few layers of bureaucracy. I would need to be able to articulate a very strong case to get folks to agree to add a position.
And we generally don't do limited term work or contracting because we pay a lot of overhead to onboard people.

@varx I think that's central HR having edited the description without having talked with our department. Bureaucracy is quite a thing!
We have 1-2 annual in-person events, and there's no requirement to be Chicago-local.
