If this isn't pure pantomime then I cannot grasp the depth of this naivete.
We _cannot_ shame the Right into doing right. They lack the requisite psychology to _be_ shamed.

Trump doesn't think in terms of _national_ security. He thinks in terms of personal security and _leverage_. Choose any stereotypical mobster you want. Now imagine that mobster and Donald Trump are the same person.
Trump's actions aren't even remotely confusing given the proper perspective.
