I merged 5 videos for you."The common factor of all arrested journalists is that they recorded police violence and tried to convey the truth to the public",
said board member of the DİSK BASIN-İŞ, the "Press, Publishing and Printing Workers Union" part of the "Confederation of Revolutionary Trade Unions" (DİSK) of Turkey.Yes, of course. They arrest journalists for being the public's eyes. Dictatorships don't want the public to have such, only ears to take orders in blind obedience.

Anti-coup protesters of the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, brought their own TOMA, water cannon truck:"We know that when there is a coup against democracy, the first ones they will try to silence will once again be women and LGBT+ persons"
"Women, queers want peace"Ankara anti-coup protest continues.
For context, people are imprisoned in Turkey for calling for peace. For example many were fired by presidential decree and/or imprisoned for signing a publicly published statement asking for peace, to end Turkey's wars.
Furthermore, during the previous elections the primary electioneering of the dictatorship party (AKP) has been hate-speech against LGBTQ* people and against refugees, with an election promise in the latest presidential election for example to deport all Syrian refugees. -

https://anfenglish.com/news/172-people-sent-to-prison-in-past-six-days-78582You know these protests you have been able to see live happening in Turkey?
Yeah, not only are the press doing their jobs by showing those events of obviously very relevant public interest threatened with license-revocation for showing such live coverage, but Turkey's "state TV avoids any coverage of mass street protests" and the government's State-censorship agency's president explained it with that "there is no need for disinformation", while Erdoğan and gang gets to hold their counter-propaganda live on TV.

So now you know... reality is "disinformation" while ruler's propaganda is essential. -
